Dr. Annie Armstrong founded Head 2 Toe Chiropractic and Sports Therapy in 2005 with the goal of delivering leading edge manual sports therapy to all patients, whether they are victims of an automobile accident, work injury, sports injury or suffering from headaches or back pain. The combination of both Active Release Technique and Chiropractic care provide a perfect union to treat most musculoskeletal injuries.
Dr. Armstrong is one of the few certified Active Release Providers in Washington State. She currently holds Active Release certifications in Spine, Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity and Long Tract Nerve Entrapments. She also is an Active Release Masters provider and Ironman provider. Active Release Technique was developed to treat world class athletes, for the treatment of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries. This leading edge, patented soft tissue therapy enables Dr. Armstrong to effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
As a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, she has been working with Ironman triathletes, marathon runners, ultra marathoners, multisport athletes, USA gymnastics, pro golfers and junior athletes since 2004. In order to prescribe corrective exercises from a movement perspective model, she is also a Selective Functional Movement Assessment provider. This unique screen provides a series of comprehensive full body movement tests which identify areas of impairments within the body.
Dr. Armstrong is a certified Titleist Performance Institute Medical Professional. She works closely with Golf Professionals and Personal Trainers to identify and address any physical limitations a player may have which are affecting the consistency, accuracy and power of their golf swing. She is the only medical professional in Washington State that is both Active Release Certified and Titleist Performance Certified.
She is also a certified Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM) provider and a Kinesio Tape provider. The Kinesio Taping Method involves taping over and around muscles in order to assist and give support or to prevent over-contraction. This is the only protocol that gives the practitioner the opportunity to give support while still maintaining full range of motion, allowing the individual to participate in his/her normal physical activities with functional assistance.
Dr. Armstrong graduated Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic West with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 2005. She is an active member of the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council and is a member of the Pi Tau Delta International Chiropractic Honor Society.
Dr. Armstrong currently resides in Mill Creek, Washington with her husband and two young boys. During her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family, particularly enjoying being outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
